Don Jordan To set the record straight: Grey seals have been on Nantucket for many decades. Over 40 years ago one of my work-study jobs at the Nantucket Field Station under Dr. Wes Tiffany was to trek out to Smith Point and color in the unique spots on each grey. Multiple studies since have shown that stripers are in no way the preferred meal of grey’s.
