Old Town Watercraft Presents: Native Brookies

Old Town kicked off their Old Town Presents series earlier this year, highlighting three fishing destinations and the people, culture, and fish that make them special. Host, Old Town Brand Evangelist Ryan Lily, has visited Chicago for salmon, Texas for largemouth bass, and, in my favorite installment, his home state of Maine for brook trout.

The Eastern Brook Trout is one of the treasured prizes in North American fisheries. While once bountiful along the Appalachian Trail, they have since receded to only the most pristine and remote waters. Maine is home to 90% of the remaining native, or naturally reproducing, Eastern Brook Trout.
