Trout remain the top target with spoons and bait all working on a variety of species.
Pike and trout are on the feed ahead of the imminent freshwater “turnover”.
Tautog are still feeding as they migrate onto offshore wintering grounds, while in freshwater, bass, pike and trout are keeping anglers’ lines tight.
Tautog are chewing in deep water down in Buzzards Bay while lake trout and perch are active in the Res, and bass and trout entertain in the ponds.
While tog fishing remains terrific, trout are the top target for most.
Tautog are in bunches and bingeing, and while the striper bite has slowed with average catches falling into the schoolie category, anglers are still finding the occasional bigger bass by throwing eels into marshes and rivers at night.
While tautog continue their tear along the South Shore and South Coast, the freshwater bite is picking up with pike, salmon, rainbows and lakers binging.
While hot fishing for big tautog continues in Buzzards Bay, schoolie and slot-sized stripers are blitzing on peanut bunker and chasing herring fry along beaches and river mouths.
False albacore continue to chase peanut bunker, The Three Bays continue to hold big bass, and the tautog bite remains terrific on the South Coast.
While the majority of the striper stock has already pushed off for their southern migration, good bass are still being found in the dark and they aren’t picky about offerings.
