Erie County

20-Mile Creek

Attention Steelhead anglers fishing 20-mile creek, Rt 5 to the iron bridge is closed to fishing. The creek is open from the iron bridge upstream and is accessible from Middle Road.

Area Steelhead Tributaries

All the Erie Tributaries have Steelhead in them in good numbers. The creeks will only get better with each rain event Erie gets. Small presentations and light line are the keys to being successful. Please remember that all tributaries are closed to fishing from 10PM to 5AM with 2 exceptions. Fishing is permitted from the Manchester Bridge north on Walnut Creek and the Rt 5 Bridge north on Elk Creek.

Presque Isle Bay

Anglers are catching some Yellow Perch and panfish from shore.

Lawrence County

Neshannock Creek (Delayed Harvest)

Anglers are reporting that recent stocked trout are still very receptive to anything that is tan or chartreuse. Overall, anglers are having luck with nymphs, pheasant tail flies, and olive woolly buggers.

Cascade Quarry

Anglers are catching recently stocked trout mostly on minnows and small plastic worms in white.

Mercer County

Shenango River Lake

With the cooler nights, the lake temperature should be dropping, which means fish will be trying to fatten up for the winter. In the evening, White Bass and hybrids are chasing shad to the surface. Anglers are catching panfish in the deeper water close to shore. A reminder that Shenango River Lake is designated as a Panfish Enhancement Lake. Crappie must be nine inches to harvest, and the creel limit is 20.

The Shenango fish consumption advisory is still in effect until further notice.

Warren County

Allegheny River

Anglers are catching a good number of Muskellunge on the Allegheny River from Tidioute up to Starbrick Access Area. This area is also good for anglers targeting Smallmouth Bass and Walleye.


Northeastern Region

Crawford County

Pymatuning Reservoir

The Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) has begun dropping the water level for winter pool. When out on the water, be sure to operate with extreme caution and be on the lookout for newly exposed water hazards. Anglers are still catching Yellow Perch and catfish during the day. Anglers are catching Walleye by jigging in the late evening hours.

Shenango River

Anglers are catching panfish and catfish below the weir. Anglers are catching Muskellunge as well. Most anglers are finding success using live bait and in the early mornings and late evenings.
 

Erie County

Area Steelhead Tributaries

There are a lot of Steelhead in Walnut Creek, Elk Creek and some Steelhead in Crooked Creek and Raccoon Creek. When fishing the creek mouths, popular baits have been silver and blue spoons. When fishing the streams, pastebait, skein, and live minnows have been working.

Fairview Gravel Pits

Anglers are catching Largemouth Bass in the Fairview Gravel Pit Ponds.

Edinboro Lake

Anglers are catching Yellow Perch and crappie in Edinboro Lake.

Forest County

Tionesta Lake

Musky anglers have been successful trolling along the shoreline near the dam and near the Lackey Flats Camping Area.

Tionesta Outflow

Anglers are catching Muskellunge, crappie, and Walleye from the wall and the campground side of the outflow. A current trout permit is required to fish the Tionesta Outflow.

Ross Run Children’s Area

Children 15 years of age and younger can enjoy some fall fishing opportunities on Ross Run.

Spring Creek

The Marienville Rod and Gun Club will stock Spring Creek in early October with adult trout. Anglers are reminded that the daily limit is three trout.

Mercer County

French Creek

Water levels are up so it’s a good time to enjoy a float with the changing of the leaves.

Lake Wilhelm

As the leaves change, it is a great time to enjoy the water for a pleasure cruise or float.

Southeastern Region

ALERT: The website will be going through a migration November 19-22, 2022, and due to that migration, region reports may not be updated during that time.

Northampton County

On October 21st, Minsi Lake is scheduled to be stocked with adult trout. Please check the online stocking schedule in case it gets rescheduled.

The Delaware River water level has risen due to recent rains, providing boating, fishing, scenic and paddling opportunities.

Remember that starting November 1st, all boaters in boats less than16 feet in length are required to wear their Personal Floatation Device when on the water. This includes all kayaks and canoes.

Northern Bucks County

The East Branch Perkiomen Creek stocking was cancelled on October 13, and the reschedule date should be posted shortly. Be sure to check the stocking schedules to find out when your favorite streams will be stocked. Also take a moment and brush up on the current rules and regulations for extended trout season.
